• Linda with Robert Jolicoeur at Lavenham Farm
Lavenham Farm’s layout is by Robert Jolicoeur of International Equestrian Design, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Robert has made two site visits to Lavenham Farm to design its layout. In addition to being a trained landscape architect and an accomplished horse trainer, Robert is also an international FEI course designer for show jumpers. He helped design our derby field.
  • Our outdoor arena is engineered and built to an Olympic standard by WestWind Surfaces of Palm Beach, FL. It features imported German, waffled & perforated rubber mats under the natural silica footing. These mats reduce concussion on horses’ legs and feet by up to 40%. Ours is the only arena built to this standard in the state of Washington.
  • Our 60’ round pen is built to the same standard, one of only a few round pens in the United States that WestWind has built with the German rubber mats.
  • We have one of only three private indoor arenas on Vashon Island. Its dimensions are 60’x100’ enclosed with natural and artificial lighting and new centrifuged mason sand footing with dust suppression paraffin waxes.
  • Our arena drag is the state-of-the-art, German-made Platz-Max
  • Five-acre derby field
  • Half-mile turf galloping track
  • One-mile perimeter trail circumnavigating the farm through meadows and forests so it’s possible to ride a loop without leaving the property or crossing any roads
  • Historic cross-country fences designed by Ian Stark, winner of Badminton CCI Five Star Three-Day event in England
  • Extensive turn out for all our horses
  • Minimal mud in the winter thanks to our drainage system & naturally well-drained soils
  • Hot water wash rack with excellent water pressure & an overhead infrared heater
  • Heated tackroom with tack lockers
